What this paper brings together
A meta-analysis separating case-control and cohort evidence and comparing call time, years of use and side of head exposure.
The authors’ synthesis or proposal
Combines 19 case-control and 5 cohort studies. The case-control synthesis reports higher brain-tumour odds for same-side use (OR 1.40, 95% CI 1.21–1.62), use over 10 years (1.27, 1.08–1.48) and cumulative use over 896 hours (1.59, 1.25–2.02).
Reading the connections carefully
Cohort pooled estimates were statistically inconclusive. Recall, selection and exposure-classification problems remain; overlapping datasets in other reviews are not new independent evidence. The 2024 correction changes author affiliations only.
