# WEB-044 — 75–105 GHz: cell death and susceptibility in a cancer-cell comparison

Why this matters
Different cell types need not respond alike. This study followed the earlier morphology work with measurements of cell death and senescence, including a non-tumour cell comparator. That comparison is central to what the findings can—and cannot—tell us about biological susceptibility.

Verification Group: Original text reviewed

Record Role: Original text reviewed

Featured: False

Exposure: 75–105 GHz sweep; 0.2 mW/cm²; H1299 exposures 2, 4 or 10 min; non-tumour comparator tested up to 16 min.

Design: H1299 lung-cancer versus non-tumorigenic MCF-10A epithelial cells; viability, senescence and microscopy over 14 days.

Finding: Mortality and senescence increased in H1299 cells; 10 min exposure was followed by complete population death within two days. MCF-10A cells were unaffected under tested conditions.

Statistics: See the original results; effect sizes were not independently recalculated.

Boundary: Therapeutic cancer-cell study, not evidence that radar exposure injures normal tissue. Swept source and medium-dependent dosimetry differ from a deployed car radar.

Related: Companion to the same group’s 2020 morphology paper; overlapping programme, not independent replication. Related publication records: WEB-043.

Protection Question: Which exposure conditions reproduce this finding, and what would establish its relevance beyond the experimental model?

Access: Original methods/results and interpretation reviewed; raw data and supplements were not independently audited.
