# IF-001 — Learning and memory endpoints at 7.5 kHz

Why this matters
The higher-exposure mice had difficulty learning and retaining parts of a task in this intermediate-frequency experiment. These functional findings give the assessment a different focus from isolated cell markers. Equipment problems forced a separate high-exposure cohort, so a carefully matched repeat is needed before applying the result to public exposures.

Exposure: 7.5 kHz magnetic field; sham, 12 or 120 microtesla; continuous exposure for five weeks.

Design: 70 male mice: 30 sham and 20 per exposed group.

Finding: The 120-microtesla group showed impaired task acquisition and passive-avoidance retention, with elevated hippocampal TNF-alpha expression.

Boundary: Equipment problems required a separate high-exposure cohort. Many other endpoints were unchanged. The high field exceeded the occupational reference level cited by the authors.

Protection Question: Do the memory and inflammatory findings persist with concurrent comparison groups? The separate high-exposure cohort limits inference, and intermediate-frequency conditions cannot be transferred directly to public RF exposures.
