# ELF-006 — Tumour promotion under a power frequency magnetic field

Why this matters
Rats exposed to a cancer-causing chemical reportedly developed more and larger mammary tumours under a power-frequency magnetic field. This remains a retrieval lead. It may help examine combined exposures, provided the original results and follow-up experiments are checked and related Hannover publications are not counted as independent laboratories.

Featured: False

Exposure: 50 Hz; 100 microtesla; 91 days reported in discovery dossier.

Design: DMBA-treated rats; 99 exposed and 99 sham reported.

Finding: Discovery dossier reports more and larger mammary tumours in a chemically initiated rat model.

Boundary: Retrieve original and follow-up experiments; repeated Hannover papers are not separate laboratories.

Protection Question: Is the reported mammary-tumour promotion reproducible in this chemically initiated model? Original and follow-up papers remain retrieval work, and related Hannover publications are not independent laboratory confirmations.
